Taking Pride in Your Work
In the four years that Nadine has worked as a Crew Lead (Senior Technician) for LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. in the Quality Assurance department, she has trained many operators. “I want the operators that I train to take pride in their work,” Nadine said. “People pay a lot of money for new cars and we want to give them the best.”
As an experienced trainer, Nadine serves on the outgoing quality control side of her department. Her nearly 6-year career at LG came after previous experiences in the Navy and in a health and wellness consumer goods company.
Nadine’s department performs the final inspection on EV cells for both internal use and for external sale to manufacturers, making sure that there are no visual defects on any of the battery cells.
Shoulder to Shoulder
Nadine continually works side by side with her team, learning the specifications for each product in order to train and support her employees to the best of her ability when they come to her with questions or concerns. Anything that she expects her employees to do, she can do. In fact, Nadine made a binder of all of the possible specifications to help the team keep track of the different requirements for each product.
For her efforts and leadership, Nadine was recently recognized as overall employee of the month. While she mentioned that it felt great to be recognized by her supervisor, she said, “My proudest moment at LG was getting notifications [from other coworkers] that my team was well-trained—communicating any issues appropriately and escalating accordingly.”
Nadine can often be found recruiting others to work for LG Energy Solution. “LG is a great company to work for. It’s clean, climate-controlled and has excellent benefits with lots of opportunities for growth,” she said.
