Mark wanted to intern at LG Energy Solution Michigan because of the company’s quick growth in the electric vehicle industry. Mark worked as a Quality Assurance Intern in the Pack department. A large part of his job became reviewing technical data to discover the root cause of inefficiencies. “I enjoyed this project because I left an impact on the company. I feel like my experience has given engineers a new window to look at the quality of their batteries,” Mark said.

“I’ve developed a strong ability to communicate my work related needs. I’ve learned that every engineer needs different tools and work environments to do their jobs effectively. The way I like to work might be different from someone else, and learning how to advocate for that has been very valuable,” Mark said.
Trust and Independence
LG Energy Solution Michigan’s internships are designed to give as close to real-world experience as possible. Part of that involves trusting interns with a certain level of independence. “The most enjoyable part of my internship at LG Energy Solution MI has been the level of independence I’ve been given to make decisions. I’ve been given autonomy to make decisions about the production process, and it’s been incredible,” Mark said.
Mark would recommend this internship opportunity to anyone looking to experience a growing field. “I would tell incoming interns to pay attention to what people are saying. Exciting things are happening here, and there are endless opportunities to learn and grow,” Mark said.
