LG Energy Solution teamed up with Toys for Tots on December 7 in an effort to ensure no child goes without this holiday season. Several team members, including President Charles Hyun and HR Director Michael Benjamin, gathered at a warehouse in Holland to load thousands of toys into a trailer and sort donated items.
The effort was led by Toys for Tots Lakeshore coordinator Mark Petersen and his wife, Michelle. The couple, both United States military veterans, says this year they will donate approximately 45,000 toys to various charities for distribution to underprivileged children in Allegan, Ottawa, and Van Buren Counties. The Marine Corps Reserve Lakeshore Toys for Tots services an area of approximately 5,500 square miles.
A special thank you to our volunteers: Anthony Seay, Luis Basaldua, Wendy Luna, Crystal Hall, Aimee TerMeer, Gabi Salas, Melody Perrin, Hazel Foster, Emily Gilcrest, Carlos Salomon, Will Parker, HR Director Michael Benjamin, and President Charles Hyun.
Boxes are set up at the employee entrances in Holland to collect unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. The biggest need are items for children, ages 9-12 or teenagers.
The LG Energy Solution Michigan Cooking Club is also collecting unperishable food items for the Community Action House. Both organizations help children and families in need within the local area this holiday season.
