Springing into Action: LG Energy Solution Michigan Teams Continue a Tradition of Care & Sustainability

As winter conditions begin to ease into spring across Michigan, team members at LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. are returning to a familiar rhythm and springing into action outside to care for the spaces they work in every day.

At both the Holland and Lansing campuses, team members have resumed regular campus clean-up efforts. These efforts are a long-standing practice that takes place throughout the year and pauses only during the winter months.

“Our cleanup events are something our teams have been committed to for a long time,” said Plant Operations Director Anthony O’Donovan. “When the weather allows, we make it part of our routine. It is about maintaining a workplace we can all be proud of. But more importantly, it is reinforcing the standards we expect across our facilities.”

Teams across several departments came together to support the effort, focusing on a light seasonal refresh following the winter months and demonstrating one of LG Energy Solution Michigan’s core values, Power of Collaboration. From walking paths to green spaces and the building’s surroundings, the result was a noticeable reset across both campuses, creating a clean and welcoming environment for team members, partners, visitors, and the community as a whole.

“It’s really a simple activity, but it brings a lot of value,” said Lansing team member Sean Farrell. “You get outside, you connect with people across the plant and you can immediately see the impact of what you’ve done.”

The cleanup’s impact was felt on both the Holland and Lansing’s campuses, with teams collectively gathering an estimated 3000+ pounds of waste. The end result is a great reminder of the shared accountability across all teams and a reflection of another core value, the Power of Action.

From a performance standpoint, the results are also something teams can build on.

“We look at this the same way we would any improvement effort. We set a standard, measure the result and always look for ways to improve,” said Tyler Johnson, a member of the Continuous Improvement Team. “Tracking participation, volume collected and coverage helps us make this more efficient and consistent each time we do it.”

Beyond operational consistency, the effort connects directly to LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc.’s broader environmental commitments.

“Efforts like this reflect how we bring our environmental targets into our day-to-day operations,” said Environment Manager Se Jin Youn. “Sustainability is not only defined by large-scale initiatives, but also by the consistent actions that reduce environmental impact, promote responsible resource management and reinforce accountability at our workplace.”

As the seasons change, cleanup efforts will continue at both the Holland and Lansing facilities. By making this an annual practice, LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. hopes to encourage a culture that takes pride in the enviornment we work and live in and our role in maintaining it.

By continuing this tradition, LG Energy Solution Michigan teams are helping each and every day to Empower Every Possibility, not only through the work they do but in the environment they create together.
